AUTM Asia 2017 was held from April 23 to 26 at the Hong Kong Science Park. The four-day event features prominent speakers from academic research institutes, industries, entrepreneurs and technology transfer professionals to share their experiences and insights of the field.
Being one of the sponsor universities, the Technology Transfer Center of the Hong Kong Science and Technology hosted a panel session and invited three speakers to share their insights on the topic of “Emerging Trend in Technology Management and for Internet Big Data”.
Moderated by Professor Enboa Wu, Associate Vice-President for Knowledge Transfer of the HKUST, the session was full with audience of about 100. Professor Lei Chen, Associate Director of Big Data Institute of the HKUST, gave a talk on “Big Data Integration for Smart City” while Mr Henry Ma, Vice President & Chief Information Officer of WeBank, gave a speech on “Processing Big Data with Artificial Intelligence on the Cloud”. Lastly, Dr Jennifer Shockro, Assistant Director for technology transfer of Technology Transfer and Corporate Partnerships of California Institute of Technology shared her view on “Big Data Trends and Challenges: A University Perspective”.
The Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM) is a nonprofit organization based in the U.S. dedicated to supporting and advancing academic technology transfer globally through education, professional development, partnering and advocacy. AUTM Asia 2017 serves as a gateway to learn and explore IP opportunities in Asia and Greater China. The conference addresses free movement of innovative ideas, interests of emerging Asia markets and trends in technology management.
