In line with the objective of fortifying and enhancing the current HKUST policies, structure and practices towards knowledge transfer, intellectual property (IP) management and entrepreneurship (EP), a consulting project funded by the University has been launched last year to review the relevant HKUST IP and EP Policies. It is also taken as an opportunity to address the points raised by the internal auditor and some other major concerns over the years. This exercise covers IP policy, Entrepreneurship Policy on Faculty Involvement in Start-up Companies and HKUST Entrepreneurship Program, guidelines and procedures on related aspects of IP management and technology transfer, etc.

The Elevator World Tour™ is a series of events taking place in the world’s most impressive elevators, in the most innovative start-up cities, giving entrepreneurs the chance to garner investment and develop relationships with the most influential investors, advisors and accelerators around the globe. In each city, 100 burgeoning start-ups will compete for the chance to win an investment of up to US$100,000. Since 2013, it has been running in various iconic structures including CN Tower in Toronto, Azrieli Towers in Tel Aviv and Eiffel Tower in Paris. The next one, also the first of its kind in Asia, will be jointly organised by La Fondation du Startup de Montreal and Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation in Hong Kong’s International Commerce Centre.
